Shelter Storage 2000 - 2010

BUILDING ON AN INNOVATIVE ENTERPRISE

The market and the government are very demanding. This presents Shelter Storage with the opportunity to implement the phased expansion of its successful storage and value-added logistics concept.

Over a ten-year period, divided into four phases, a partly new and partly modernised complex will be developed on the current site in Jaartsveldstraat. This complex will provide every opportunity to enhance the services we offer.

Halls 1, 2 and 3 on the eastern side are now finished and fully operational. The big hall with the strip roof lighting will make way for a new building.

As with the existing halls, there will be a major focus in the designs for the new facilities on the statutory requirements that apply to safety, the environment and working conditions. This will result in a warehouse complex that is safe, clean and enjoyable to work in.

Shelter Storage 2000 - 2010

Phase I 2001-2002

Two new halls will be built on the northern side of the site. Hall 4 will be 65 metres long by 35 metres wide. Hall 5 will also be 65 metres long, but will be smaller, with a width of 20 metres. Both halls will be 10 metres high.

Hall 5 will function as the new central area for service activities and for garaging the internal transport vehicles used in the various halls.

Phase II 2003-2004

In this phase, the eastern half of the existing building will make way for 4 new halls, each 65 metres long, 41 metres wide and 10 metres high.

The area around this cluster of halls will be kept open, so that each hall will have separate, easy access for freight transport. Each hall will also have its own ample parking area.

Phase III 2007-2008

A start will be made on the construction of five new halls of varying dimensions, adapted to their position in relation to nearby Nijverheidsstraat. This will bring the total of separate halls to 14. Building phases III and IV will, in fact, overlap.

Remarkable! - the way in which utilities will be provided in the finished complex. The whole complex of 14 halls will be supplied with electricity, natural gas and water from one central point. This offers considerable practical, safety and cost benefits.

Phase IV to 2010

This final stage will involve the detailed finishing off of the basic hall structures. A number of customers will be reserving one or more of the halls for longer term use. Depending on their requirements, special facilities may need to be added, such as office space, other service buildings or special logistics facilities. The initial sketch plans make allowance for this and the final layout and design may, of course, differ considerably from these preliminary outlines..

…some additional logistical advantages The development of so much flexible storage space creates special opportunities for companies that do not have enough temporary (or permanent) storage, forwarding, manufacturing or assembly space of their own. This space will now be directly available, complete with all the necessary facilities and personnel support if required.

Companies from elsewhere in the Netherlands (or abroad) that are considering establishing themselves in Twente may wish to use the Shelter Storage space and facilities as a sort of bridgehead while they investigate the possibility of establishing a permanent base.

The halls offer very flexible, safe options for start-up companies. In fact, every branch of commerce and industry is more than welcome.
